    1999 VFR.

Those of you that haven't done this, it's an absurdly easy job to do. Nothing technical about it. I did the Barnett kit which runs $140.

Really the only difficult thing was scraping off all the old gasket from both the cover and engine surfaces. That took longer than the actual changeout.

I haven't had a chance to try it on the road yet, but initial impressions are the clutch 'friction zone' is much further toward the handlebar now, and it's a touch stiffer. My bike has 44k miles so it needed to be changed. The friction plates and everything else looked to be in fantastic shape though with zero wear on anything I looked at, including the camshaft gears.

Glad to hear that it went well for you. I changed my clutch somewhere around 50K, but then I tended to abuse mine a little. lol. Lke you, I found it pretty easy to do. I thought it would be a bit more difficult since I am use to changin out clutches on dirtbikes. Did you go with stiffer springs? I did with mine and really wish I had not becuase with shorty levers the pull was really stiff.

I just put in whatever springs came with the kit. I noticed they were a couple milimeters longer than the originals, probably from years of use. The lever is definitely stiffer than before, but probably good for more grab.

I called the local Honda dealer and they wanted $250 just for the plates and springs. The gasket was another $17.

The Barnett kit I bought on ebay was $140 and included the gasket.

One thing I did notice different was the metal plates. The ones on the bike (not sure if they are factory Honda) are perforated, Barnetts are not.

technical information is more valuable when the year and model of the bike is included......
