    Hi All!

I am moving up from my training ride ( '04 Shadow 750) to my new ride (2000 VFR), probably today.

I have the MSF course and a year and a half's worth of riding under my belt, and no expensive lessons learned (knock on wood). I'm going for the VFR cause its the best deal in town; I've been looking for a good used bike, and nothing I've seen even comes close for the price. ($3500)

So, I'm looking for advice, tips, anecdotes, etc. about the bike. I've been lurking around here a bit and picked up some good stuff already. If you have any more to share, I'd be most appreciative.

    Pictures to follow...
    Thanks much

    Jbug

I went from an FZ600 to the 2000 VFR. I Love every minute of it. The handling will be quite different from the Shaddow, so take some time and get used to it before you get too crazy.

    quite different is right!

I have to get used to sitting "on top" of the bike instead of "in it"...and the power: Wow. Scared myself. But I'm ready.

Those linked brakes take a minute too, but I think I'll get the hang of them.

At any rate, I'm waiting to hear from the seller...he was pretty torn about selling it (as he should be!) Hopefully he can bear to part with it. This would really make my day!

Wish me luck, 'cause if he doesn't sell it, I'll be back on the Shadow until I find another VFR. Those 15 minutes I was on it and looking at it got me hooked.

Ditto on taking your time and getting used to the bike before you do anything crazy.

    Best of luck,
