Hello everybody from sunny Miami. I just picked up a new leftover 2006 VFR800A today, and I don't know how I'm supposed to show up to work tomorrow with this huge dumb-a$$ grin on my face! I love this bike! And now, we mod..........

Welcome to the group. Just ride to work and if someone asks, just say you rode the best machine in the world to work.

As for mods.........yeah, like KC said, don't keep us in suspense.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. Is it wrong that I want to sleep next to my bike? Maybe a little TMI there......
Anyhow, as for mods, based on the first 20 miles that I put on yesterday, I think it's going to need:
    1) ProGrips
    2) Tank protector (hey, anyone try that clear bra 3M stuff that's used on cars? Got in on my car, works great and practically invisible)
    3) Gunfighter & lady seat w/backrest (tell me if there's a more comfortable alternative out there)
    4) Some cool levers (not sure on type yet)
    5) Exhaust (again, any opinions on mufflers that aren't too loud and give a good performance gain are welcome)
    6) Fender eliminator (too bad hardbodies doesn't make anything for this bike, but then I can't see how you'd get a tag between the mufflers - legally anyway)
    7) Possibly repainting the wheels with a finish that looks like polished aluminum

There.....that should ensure that I eat nothing but bread and water for the next 6 months or so.......

Correction on #6 above - meant to say hotbodies, not hardbodies. Hard Body is my gym, so it makes sense they don't care about my bike's undertail......

For Pro Grips, I can personally recommend the gel 719 model. I put them on my bike on Saturday and put 260 miles on them on Sunday, and they felt great compared to stock. My local dealer had them in black, but here is a link so you can see them: Pro Grips 719

As for paint protecting film, I purchased some from this site, but have yet to cut and install it. For the price, I couldn't pass on trying it! http://www.snidersproducts.com/paint3.html

I can't say 100% for sure, but I believe that all Honda bars are 7/8". If your bike has bar ends, then I think they will work but you should verify that with someone who knows more than me...

Hey Mike - I put pro grips 699 waffle grips (da bomb! my 2 cents) on my 4th gen - you should have no trouble with what ever grip you want to go with. I got 'em on my 5th gen too. (check gallery)

Thanks Guys. You see so much out there as far as stuff to put on your bike and for a new guy it gets confusing:confused:
