Hey all it's been a while since I've been on here, but wanted to let you all know I am still shiny side up. My first child, a baby girl, was born on April 15. Elizabeth Marie has taken up most of my time, and what time she doesn't was consumed by substitute science teaching, yard work, organizing the garage and trying sneak in a beer here and there.

Anyway, just wanted to let the vfr community know that I still ride, still love the vfr and still want to ride with anyone who is going to be around northern Colorado and needs/wants a riding partner. I rode today and it was great. I just need to take care of some maintenance before I go too far. I'm afraid I need to do more than the standard oil change though:( probably need new brake fluid and pads, new chain and sprockets and probably fork oil change. I wish there was a good vfrworld member who wanted to make some extra $ to do it for me, but I may have to break down and take it to the dealership.

Take care all and I am glad to be back on here, even if I have to drink my beer WHILE I'm on here...multitasking is a bitch ;)

Sorry I just realized I should have put this into the anything goes forum...oh well, back to newbie status

congrats! I was wondering if you were going to show back up or not.

Look at that, it's an actual good looking baby and not one of those alien types! Are you sure it's yours? :potstir:

Be glad to lend a hand wrenching but I rarely do work for hire. Busy enough with my own stuff. Be glad to help out if a guy wants to come by with beer and help with the work. Otherwise, Dave at STM Suspension is still competitive with his pricing.

Not sure if you notice - The blue bike is sold and I've moved on to a 5.5gen

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I'm glad to see that you took the opposite route that many take. That would be that you're keeping the bike and looking to continue to ride - instead of getting rid of it. Working and raising a family is more than a full time job and the bike just helps to keep things in balance.

I knew I could count on Tink for a snide remark. She is tall and skinny, so Im not sure she is mine, but she is beautiful so I must have had some hand in making her ;) Tink- I love the new bike, I'm sure you are ecstatic as well. When did you get her? I definitely would not mind coming over for an evening some time to work on my girl, you just have to tell me what kind of brew you prefer. If I can't make it or it just doesn't work out, does STM do all kinds of maintenance, or just suspension work?

Thanks to all of you on the congratulations! My wife and I both still plan on riding, can't give it up. It's good to be back!

fat tire type brews are best for me. unless it's rediculous hot then the watered down stuff like Bud, coors, or miller lite.

    am not picky.

Got the bike some 8mo ago or so. here's a bedtime story for you http://vfrworld.com/forums/5th-gene...5-t3-tinks-annual-project-bike-98-vfr800.html

I'm sure I don't need to say it, but enjoy that little one. Here's what you'll find 10mo later:

Today was his first day crawling on all fours. Came on like a pro all of a sudden. For the last couple months, he's been dragging himself around the house like Bishop the cyborg guy from that Aliens movie...

Holy $hit! He is fast! I'm scared for when that happens to us.
I am happy for you with the 5th gen, I can't wait to ride with you again and hear the gear-driven cams, I've heard it sounds great, but never heard it myself.
I like the local microbrews best too, but there were a few micros that I discovered when I lived out in Oregon, maybe I'll try to find something like that.
You will have to let me know your schedule sometime to get a plan. I am out of a job for the next few months, until public school gets back in anyway, so my schedule is now pretty free.
