Is this a Rivet master link?

    Could've sworn there was a clip on this master link. Had new chain installed in Feb at dealer, called them they said it shouldbe a rivet master link. I'm not really familiar with them, only the clip type. I adjusted the chain a while back and could've sworn there was a clip on there, cause I used it as a point of reference when insepecting the chain.
    I just noticed it was gone(or never there) today when I was going to adjust it. The plates are tight wont come apart. I've been riding it daily for the past few months.

    Do you think they f'd it up, and put the clip on also? Cause I saw that the model chain I got from them comes with a clip and a rivet master link.

    That is a poor job of quad staking. There is a tool to do it so it doesn't look like it was done with a cold chisel. I would replace that link because of the stress cracking that can occur with that much deformation. It wasn't a clip type link. The hollow pins are for the rivit expanding die. A clip type would be a solid pin with a groove cut in it to retain the clip.
