Apparently I trashed my steering bearings on the trip to SLO IV. But luckily with a new set of rollers from AllBalls , a redneck hoist and some labor I was ready for a little test drive and found a nice new road here not far from the house.

Actually the straps are pretty good.. If you wanna go full redneck get some beer bottles and prop the bike up.

That's more common than you think. I'd say redneck would be cinder blocks or wheels.

redneck would be to hang it from the attic stairs and shut the stairs in an attempt to hoist the bike

I think you have to use at least tree branch to hoist up the bike and it must hang by said tree for at least a year, and yes extension cords must be used as well.

    First Class Hoist...

Nothing but the hi-tech approach for me. I use ROK straps attached to the garage door runners. Classy, huh?

Note to Self: Self, remember to disengage the automatic garage door opener before proceeding with this hi-tech hoist technique.

Yikes! You know, garage door runners aren't that strong. At least the ones on my last two houses weren't. I don't hang anything heavier than a wet riding jacket on mine....and the garage door.

I installed the doors, runners, brackets, and openers, so I'm pretty confident they're strong enough. But you make a good point.

If that trolley jack is anything like mine it'll go down over night thus pulling the door runners down a couple of inches.

UNLESS they are as tough as you say in whch case you'll have a VFR nicely suspended in mid air which would be cool
