A lot of people selling Interceptors without the best descriptions or info. Some don't even know what they have (some dealers). Is there an easy way to visually distinguish if its a Deluxe model or not?

Look for ABS rings on the brakes and look for a heated grip toggle switch.

Didn't know about the switch, I will look for that. I knew about the ABS rings but sometimes those are hard to see in photos.

If we are talking the new 014 model VFR, there's a couple maybe three things, The most noticeable is the lack of a center stand on the standard. Then there's the traction control buttons on the left grip controls and yes the abs ring that's missing.

Deluxe models have Rebound alongside preload adjustments on the top of the fork caps.

Standard models have preload only forks

Actually, standard models have no fork adjustments at all. Yet another reason to not even consider a standard, IMO.

I think everyone covered all the differences, but just to recap, here's a list of the extra features on the Deluxe, that are not on the standard:

-Center stand (pretty easy to see in most pictures)
-ABS ring (on right side of front wheel)
-Traction control switch on top of left bar
-Heated grip button on edge of left grip
-Preload and rebound adjusters on top of forks
-Remote rear preload adjuster knob by left passenger peg

    I'm pretty sure that's everything.

Unless you currently own a standard model 2014 with no preload adjustments on the forks and you ride to my house and show me in person, I'm not believing it.

Figure that any or all of those adds and other stuff is worth about half of retail. If some dealer is not aware of the difference between the models, best IMO to keep it under your shirt.

    Here you go...

    Deluxe fork caps
    Deluxe fork caps.jpg
The slot is the small screw adjuster for the rebound. The round black barrel under that is the preload.

    Standard fork caps
    Standard fork caps2.jpg
As you can see, there is nothing to adjust on top of these forks. Those black things with the hex head are the actual fork caps that keep in the fluid and internals.

Surely this is enough proof to believe me.

You win. I could never get a straight answer out of any of the write ups. That's it right there though, plain as day. Man that sucks. I'd still get a standard model though. No sense in opting for the fancy stuff, when I would just be swapping on USD forks the second week I had it lol.

lol, That and if you can't spot the center stand... whats to say. I'm with Candy on this, all though the center stand is nice, but not a deal breaker, if one was to find a good deal, and they are out there, just spotted a standard for 7800.The other gadgets aren't IMO needed. just drives up the cost for what?

I mean the only thing I would want is the factory quickshifter and you can add that to a standard.

Now if the deluxe came with more HP and or a fully adjustable suspension and USD fork, I'd consider it.

I did forget about the self-canceling turn signals on my list, but lots of people don't like them anyway. Personally, I would (and did) get the Deluxe for the ABS. I've never had a situation where I wished that it didn't have it.

Center stand is the easiest way but I added the center stand on mine so if you see me rolling, don't say "NICE DELUXE" :congratulatory:
