I met this

 

a 180 tire(what you have) is constructed to fit in a 5.5 inch rim. (which you have)
a 190 tire(what you want) is constructed to fit in a 6 inch rim. (which you do not have)

if you stuff that 190 tire into your 5.5 inch rim its not going to handle right. it will feel as if its falling into turns. i read a letter written into cycle world where someone did this to the 600 sport bike. they did a pretty technicle article on it. bad idea unless you get a wider rim...

 

stay with the 180, 190 will slow turn in and do little/nothing for lean angle esp on the street.

 

yes you can run a 190 on a 5.5" rim, it will change the tire profile. ( just take the unmounted tire and squeeze the side walls in a 1/2" and look what it does to the profile or tire )
when you start getting into the turns and the bike is leaned over you will realize why doing this is a bad idea after you pick yourself and the bike off the ground.

Correct, squeezing a fatter 190 tire on a rim designed for a 180 will change tire profile shape and affect handling in a negative way. Stay with what is designed for, i really don't see any point in stuffing a 190 anyways since the 180 already provides all the grip you'll ever need.

 

just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should or that it is wise
