So over the next few weeks I am going to do my maintenance on the 2008 St1300 and the 2008 VFR800. I am currently running iridium spark plugs in the ST, more for longevity then for performance. The boys on the ST forum say the get upwards of a 100k on the iridium spark plugs. True or not who knows, but the point is much less plug changing reducing maintenance costs. Are iridium spark plugs a reasonable choice for the VFR? If so what is the plug brand and number? This is my wife's bike so no hard riding just long touring rides. NOTE: I have not pulled the current plugs so I don't know what is in the bike now.
Iridium is OEM and recommended in the owner's manual (verify for your year bike.) FYI here is a related thread where some part numbers are referenced, including an alternate silver-tipped plug: http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/11831-2004-Honda-VFR-800-Spark-Plugs
Thanks Knight. I looked at the manual before I wrote this and missed the plug number identifying them as iridium.
