Hello, I'm getting ready to get back into biking. My first car was a bike, at the age of 16, sold my last (Kawasaki 500) in my early thirties. I've decied it is now time to get another one, and have chosen the VFR. I really like the looks, the lines, and what I've read about it. By spring I'll have one. Found this site, and intend to learn more.
Welcome and Happy Holidays! Make sure you swing by the folks at Honda of St. Johns. I got an amazing deal from those guys on an '06 I purchased about three months back and they were great to deal with. The deal was so good I drove from the Bay Area to Portland just to get the bike. Good luck on your impending purchase!
Congrats on deciding to return to riding...If you get a VFR , you'll soon come to understand why they're so highly loved by their owners. I purchased my like-new '91 VFR in '93 or '94, (my 1st sportbike) and though have only added about 12k miles to it, I decided long ago, "it's a keeper".. There are a lot of low milage older VFR's at what I consider bargain prices, & I'd advise you to consider older VFR 's in your purchase decision. I still Love mine! Good Luck, ... joebiker996.
Thanks so very much! Hi, Thanks for the kind replies. I'm hoping to meet a few women bikers. Back in my day (yep, I'm 52!) there just were not that many. I see a few now and then, but not nearly as many as there should be. Times are changing, but too slowly. I really am anxious to get my bike. I want to learn more about the linked braking system on it tho. I was accustomed to a "fast bike" with independent braking, as they had none of this back in my day. I plan on getting an '03-'05 bike. I sat on an '04 and it fit like a glove. How is the braking on these? Is it difficult to get used to? I've read an article on modifying them but I'm going to leave mine as is. What about the rest of you guys? I'm here to educate myself. Thanks! Theresa Greene:smile:
