Although I've made a few other posts, its time for a complete introduction. While my inseam, age, and part of the country should mean that I ride a cruiser, I appreciate the handling of sportier bikes. My new ride, as of two weeks ago is a 2002 Non-ABS VFR. Previously, I rode a mildly modified Ninja 250. I expect the VFR to require fewer modifications as it is much closer to being the bike I need. I've already completed the "triangle" mod to get it lower, although I still need to drop the front. I've also have a Sigma Cycles sidestand on its way and should have the project completed this week. My bike has heated grips with the big square controller mounted on the left fairing and GenMar risers. I also have the accessory bags, but intend to repaint the lids Honda red.

Crosswinds are a major issue here as are limited twisties. Our closest options are the Loess Hills along the Iowa side of the Missouri River. I'm still adjusting to the 200 lb weight increase, but appreciate the planted feel of the VFR. I expect this will allow for some longer rides as its ergos fit me pretty well. I'm long-waisted and the Ninja had me pretty folded up.

I've appreciated the expertise I find on the site, and the commitment to making a great bike even better. IMG02742-20100515-1124.jpg

Wow. Moving from a 250 to the VFR. I think you'll like the VFR alot better. It is a very well balanced machine. Make sure you post some of your initial impressions of the bike once you get some more time on it. Congratulations on the new bike and welcome.
