Good day fellow mad dog warriors of the white line,

On July 11, I purchased a 2001 VFR 800 in that famous Honda Red. I am extremely stoked by this machine. Two years ago I sold my 2002 Triumph Sprint ST to help downsize my vehicular "mini" collection, as alas...I have a measley one car garage. It was for good reason though. A 2005 Mustang GT.

The VFR came from a local Honda dealer, who took in trade from me a 1992 Mustang LX hatchback with a 5.0 drivetrain and 112,000 miles. I've been a customer of thiers for over 10 years, and the owner has always had his eye on the car. Well...it was a most righteous deal for all.

I also have a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate...lovingly known as "The SportBarge". She has 103,000 miles and runs better than new. Gotta dig Honda reliabilty, eh?

Looks like a good sight here, and I hope to learn and contribute whatever I can.

    Cheers,
    brutus

Welcome aboard brutus. I think there are several folks here that have the same two bikes that you have. Two sweet machines. How about some pics?

Hey Brutus! I can tell great minds think alike! I have a '98 VFR800 and a '99 Valkyrie too. I like to say - One to go fast and one to go slow. The Valky name the SportBarge is pretty good - if I'm on it and get a wild hair I crawl up on the tank and do some knee dragging. My riding buddy usually gets a good laugh at the site from the rear.

I'd like to see the sparks flying from the MSB (MelloSportBarge) if your buddy ever films it. ... "sparkle farkle" ... or does she lift her bits up when you ride her that hard?

    thanks for the welcomes........

I would like to post pics, but not equipped to do so at present. I'll put this on my very short "to do" list...

Mellow...I'd really dig seeing a Valk rider drag a knee!!! I know the Barge is capable of such shenangins, but not with my arse on it!!! Kudos to you.

I'm not even a week with the VFR yet, but I can't stay off the thing. Maybe the best motor purchase I EVER made. She's got Heli Bars now from the previous owner, and I'm about to swap them for stock units. I'm 6'2" and have long arms, so the Heli's must go. I'll put them on the classifieds once I make the swap, so if anyone reads this and wants first dibs...drop me an email. 100 bucks, and pay the shipping to the lower 48.

Brutus - I bet it does look goofy, knee down, pegs draggin a bit. I have to cut it out after a bit - I slow down to laugh my ass off.

BTW - I put 4th gen bars on my '98 they are even lower than stock by about an inch - would fit your '01 too.
