I am in the market for an inexpensive (under $100) rain suit. I will need one for me and the wife. We are taking an 8 day 1st anniversary trip to Deals Gap in October and I want to be prepared.

It would be cool if it took up as little space as possible as our saddlebags are on the small side.

Get the Frogg Togg Road Toad suits, about $70.00. They breathe. Here's a link to one vendor, but they sell them in many MC shops and other retail stores such as Cabela's. They take up very little room. The vinyl suits will steambath you to death.

Like Knife said, Frogg Toggs are decent stuff for the price. Definitely lightweight and compact. You can also try places like BassProShops/Wordlwide Sportsman, Cabelas, Dicks, Gander Mountain.

Randy on this forum does a fair amount of rain riding. He'll tell you the only "real" way to stay dry is with rubber pants and jacket. They do work tremendously, but your will sweat your respective balls and boobs off.

Helly Hansen makes some decent stuff too. A little more than the frog togs, but I think you'll find it to be better quality.

    Good luck

Thanks for the input guys. I really didn't even know where to start. I am hoping that it doesn't rain all week, but even if it does we are going!

I bought a Motoboss one piece rainsuit earlier this year Cycle Gear - MOTOBOSS: Storm Guard 1-Piece Motorcycle Rain Suit, BLACK

I had the opportunity to use it three times on a recent road trip, once in a driving downpour, it worked very well, I was only a little wet around the ankles because I didn't use the under-the-boot straps that were provided.

For 6-7 bucks you can get a whole box of Glad Forceflex trash bags. Depending on what might be needed, they come in 30, 39 and 45 gallon sizes. A whole box will fit easily in even the smallest tankbag or pannier.
