Hey guys. I'm trying to source front indicator lenses for my 2002. I want to change mine to clear lenses and use an amber bulb but I'm struggling online. Will lenses and bulbs from a later model with the clear lenses be a straight swap? If so has anyone sourced these in the UK? Thanks for your help Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Yes the lenses swap has been done by a few others before you. BUT whilst they look like they should be a straight swap - same shape and mounting points I think Honda messed with the wiring connectors - so it probably entails removing the fairings and some reworking to the wiring to install the new unit. I guess you might be able to avoid rewiring if you can carefully prise off the clear lenses and simply glue them onto your current bases. Obviously with clear lenses you will also need to buy some proper orange bulbs - which on the genuine fittings are a Honda specific item which are relatively expensive unlike the standard clear indicator bulbs fitted to your bike at the moment. Don't assume eBay are the only (cheapest) source. Call a few breakers yards and you may be lucky enough to find someone dismantling a later model VFR and be able to pick up lenses and new bulbs far cheaper than buying new parts from Honda or CMSL/David Silver. That's good info thanks for that. I noticed on eBay they are selling the clear lenses but they are from a Chinese manufacturer. They are pretty cheap at £20 for the pair but I'm dubious of quality. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
