Hi everyone, I am trying to find a set of carb boots for my 1986 vf500 interceptor. I’m not having a whole lot of luck, does anyone know where I could find a set or know if there is a way to significantly soften the boots? My old boots are rock solid making it impossible to get the carb back on the bike. I’ve tried a heat gun, grease, boiling them, placing them on at an angle and have had no luck. Thanks

Google Pure Wintergreen Oil and alcohol.

Might get them on one last time.

I’ll give this a try. If they’re cracked it’s not worth putting them back on? I love working on this bike it’s just such a pain to find parts.

Tried that; wasn't worth the effort & cost. If you try it I hope it works for you.

I bought these. Worked fine & appeared to be exact replicas. --> https://www.ebay.com/itm/361514379644

More Vintage stuff actually, but it was a great find. I have a few of those bikes too.

The insulators Totaled TL posted are likely the only game. Yes, 25$ each kinda stings, but at least they are available and he said they worked perfectly.
