Hey fellow VRF riders, just picked up an 01 that needs a lot of love

As you can see it was someone else's project and I'm either a big sucker or some kind of masochist who is going to try to get this thing running.
Anyway so far it looks like it was previously going to be a street fighter.
It has no front cowl mount anymore (ground clean off).
They bought a new radiator to try an make it a single system.
Came with upgraded ignition coils too.

Problem is I don't know where to start. Wiring harness seems to be intact but the plug to the rectifier is toast and it came with a new R/R but it does not look like it plugs in with the second plug.

I would love to get this bike going but what do I need to tackle first?
It has a rusted out gas tank, no instrument cluster and a long history of looking like it has not been taken care of.
Any help would be appreciated folks.
    Thanks

start with a list of what you need to get it running. Does it start? Big question is - is it worth it?

Pee is right, is it worth it? I can see if it was a long held beloved bike but sometimes you have to cut your losses. Might be good to part it out.

You guys might be right, I have just ran into an issue with the title now. I have a salvage CA title for it. And it is signed over to a new owner who never registered it. So AZ dmv is now saying I need to track this gentleman down and have him sign a power of attorney for it.
I looked into the Vermont title thing but because it's salvage it requires a little more effort.
So yeah I could make money partying it out just no experience with shipping big parts like swing arm and wheels and stuff.
Thanks for the input guys my dreams of a 5th gen might have to be put on hold.
