I have a 1999 VFR800 and am having some troubles with the firing timing. The camshafts line up at there correct mark yet at the F mark on timing gear, the bike doesn't fire at that point. I checked with a timing light. I have tried different coils and didn't seem to change much.

Any suggestions and/or help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the crank positioning sensor test OK?

Have the cams been removed and reinstalled recently?

How do I preform that test? And yes I have removed them to fix valve clearance but reinstalled them correctly following the manuals instructions.
