Some sod did that to me and I'm about to start the job.

I had a look at mine and if you're lucky the ignition barrel will be held on with either a pair of torx bolts or 2 cap head screws (mine's got the Torx). In that case with a bit of fiddling and a couple of long extensions you should be able to get the lock removed from the upper triple tree by reaching up from the area of the wheel/radiator.
If you have the shear head bolts the triple tree has to come off I believe to drill the bolts out.

As far as the cable connection go it looks like all the clock plastics, mirrors, screen, etc. have to come off. A bit of a PIA.

If 'er in doors gets the lock tomorrow I'll start the job on Friday. Good luck if you get going before me.

    PS
For what its worth the scrotes that did mine ripped the whole lock out of the switch. With a suitable screwdriver you can then turn the ignition on and start the bike. I'm not sure if it releases the steering lock as well though.
