Ignition coils

I think i need some new coils for my 83 vf750f, just wondering if other year models will work?

good question,If I were a betting man I would say yes they would. You may have some mounting problems,seems like the 5th gens coils are all the same but no two brackets are the same. To validate the coils, you could get a good coil and do resistance testing on it. If the new coils gave you a similar reading then I would say they should work, eddie

 

I would get better aftermarket units and wires. Wait, I did! Dyna and Accel are good.

 

I believe the 84-85 VF700F's have a different advance curve to make up for the loss in displacement. They should work for your '83 VF750F, just bear in mind that they are not original to your bike.
