I am not a big fan of most street Supertrapps, I don't need a luggage rack (but could sell it). It has a Fox TC that likely needs a $250 service. Actual mileage not listed.

And now it needs a full carb clean too and probably the brake calipers gone thru. 4 year old BT45 tires is probably the best thing going for it.

    Pass.

You gotta screenshot these bad boys before someone goes and snags all the good deals and the listings disappear.

This one isn't too ridiculous compared to a lot of the postings I see. I did highlight my favorite part. I've never seen storage conditions referred to as "Stored Best Available" before--what a euphemism!

"Some above water, some below water"

Dust n Rust. Saw them at the Sate Fair a couple weeks ago too. They rocked.

And you won't find anyone letting these go. That's why there is only about 6 for sale on my local CL

I just said it's a great comment. (IMHO... like the ad)

The 1969 CB750 was the first truly refined modern bike to me. Honda wanted to showcase their engineering prowess with a proper big bike and blow British minds. And did.

The Z1 might be the original SuperBike. It was specifically designed to kick ass.

But with the Interceptor, the Future Was Now. It was a revolution.

I remember going to my local Honda dealer and standing there in front of the only VF750 they had.... I was speechless. It was years ahead of anything I had seen for the street.

The VF750F was definitely the first Superbike that was designed with racing in mind. When released, the competion was the GPz750 and GSX750; the GPz was air-cooled, 8 valves, tube framed. The GSX was air-cooled and 16V. The VF750F looked like it came from the future. I still have the Cycle magazine from 1983 in which the great Kevin Cameron dissect just what makes the VF750 special (I nearly said just what makes them tick...that would be the cams and tensioners failing...:Boom:).

I have fond memories of my own VF750F but much prefer the later iterations.

Revisiting ya'lls talk about "The Original Superbike", my (now retired) coworker has a 1975 CB750 that he's owned since 1981. His friend purchased it new from Upper Michigan in 1975. I was talking to him at a work lunch and he mentioned that he hasn't ridden it this year because the front brake is sticking. I told him leettttt me just give that a shot... I bet I can get it resolved and get you back on the road. He's done a lot for me over the years and, since simple bike maintenance is one of the few things I could actually offer as repayment, I went to pick it up this morning.

I'm looking forward to taking it for a spin around the neighborhood after going through the front caliper, master, and probably just replacing the front brake line. It fired right up when we loaded it onto the trailer.

What a pretty machine. Pushing it up my sloped driveway was a bit of an adventure though.

    Vincent Black Lightning.

150mph back in 1948 and the fasted production motorbike for *decades*.

Visordown (https://www.visordown.com/features/general/history-superbike-1969-2001 ) go with the CB750 but define a superbike as:

"superbike n. a standard production motorcycle with a designated engine capacity of 750cc or above and which offers ground-breaking sports performance."

Yep to all of those for the Black Lightning. 998cc, 70hp and 150mph. In 1948. Utterly, utterly ground breaking.

The Black Lightning had more power, was faster, lighter and of course ~20 years earlier than the CB750!
