I have a '98 VFR800 swingarm and wheel setup and I want to use the wheel, but the swingarm is too wide at the pivot. right now I'm looking at using a GT Hawk swingarm with a VFR eccentric and rotating assembly with the VFR800 wheel...but it leaves a lot of suspension stuff to figure out.

What I'm curious about is if I could just use the 750 swingarm. Ideally I need an arm about 2" shorter than the VFR800 arm, but that's not a huge concern. My biggest problem is at the pivot...the 800 swingarm is just way too wide. Does anyone know if the 750 arm is any narrower?

Yes, the 750 is narrower. More popular selection for sssa swaps. 750 mounts in the frame, 800 around the motor.

Thanks, vfrcapn. The 750's seem to have two different kinds of shock mounts...seems one was a clevis mount ad the other was an eye mount. Are both the arms the same width at the pivot?

I would also like to know if I pick up a blank 750 arm, would the rotating assembly from my 800 fit it? The most important thing I want is the wheel.

This one is a 90-93. It is boxed up for shipping already, just the cost of shipping needed.

Okay "3rd" gen is the 90~93 models, right? I really want one of those because I can make teh shock mount work easier...but I'm getting mixed answers as far as pivot width. Some sites say it's 242mm, some say it's 227mm (same as the next generation). Is there any way you could measure it? I might be able to cut it down either way, but it would be convenient if it were the same width as the 4th gen (or at least narrower than my 230mm stock frame width).

    ugh...all excited, terrible grammar.

You know what...send me a paypal address or an email address and can pay shipping or I can send either a USPS or UPS label. I'll take it whether it'll work for my GSXR or not...I'm always getting myself in these projects haha.

my username is my gmail.com address.

The 5th gen wheel (same as 6th gen wheel - all '98-'09) fits on all the earlier swingarms, '90-'97. No need to change out eccentrics.

It's tough to measure on the bike but my '93 looks like it's in the 240mm range, give or take 10mm.
