I have an opportunity to buy either a white 1993 VFR that's in great shape or a 1990 that's also in great shape..... Does anyone know if the white one might be more sought after since they were only produced one year? Except for the year I will assume they are the same bike? I welcome any thoughts you guys may have.

Buying a used bike because of the color is not a great idea. "Sought after" indicates you are thinking aboot profit motive or "look what I have and you don't". Does that make you some kind of asshole? Nope, we all think that but rarely admit it. This excludes me of course...LO

Much the same bike. Exactly the same is up to question. One of the hallmarks of Honda is improvement so to say a 1990 is exactly the same bike (excluding color) as a 1993 could be misleading, The service manual is the same for that run of bikes.

"Great shape" is in the eye of the beholder or maybe just what some dude at a dealership told you. Our man "Snake" is in NJ and elsewhere on the site there is probably some dudes who have all the part numbers committed to memory.

Finding a nice white 3rd gen is more difficult than finding a 1990 or 91 in red. Value? To an enthusiast it could be worth a few hundred bucks more. I've had two red ones, a 90 and a 91 but never a white 93 because I could never find one when fate put me in a position to buy. They are all essentially the same machine under the paint as Badbilly has already stated so buy the one that floats your boat or has the better options installed. Either way you win!

As mention above from BB and Jethro
the 93 white is hard to find, however without seeing the condition of these bikes
Pick the one that is clean and the one that your  tell you.

Did Honda ever stop choosing colors for different markets? A friends bro works for Honda in Torrance and he told me nobody ever figured out what that was all aboot. The Japanese do know colors and I use two different sources (books) on choosing colors and color combos. RW&B is understandable but the rest is flat weird.
