Would a 6th Gen owner be willing to pull out one screw and take a picture?

What i need is the cover for the mirror bolts, below the windscreen. Just remove that *carefully* - don't pull out the rubber grommet like I did. That's why I'm in this predicament. One side completely fell off, the other side came out when I was looking at it to see what was going on.

I've got a 2006, don't know if that makes any difference or not, but I would think all the 6th gens are the same.

I've attached pictures of where I need help....

I can't make out what you are looking for, through reading your post and your pics.

I am not totally sure what you were looking for here Keager, but I think the grommet you are referring to is actually a well nut. If you go to a Honda Parts counter and speak with someone lesser in the know, they are going to tell you they come with the cowl; fender or whatever they are inserted in. That is rubbish. It is a simple well nut available just about anywhere including Home Depot. You just need to know the correct size. I do think that the OEM does fit better than what you can get at Home Depot though. Once you have put them in, and set them by screwing in the screw firmly, they kinda crush around the hole in the plastic and will stay secure there. Problem with the aftermarket is they are a little thinner on the outside and tend to spin inside the hole in the plastic. This can be overcome but it is a bit of a nuisance.

I suspect that it may be the exact same size as the other well nuts elsewhere on the fairings and cowls. This particular one looks like it may be mounted sop that you are inserting the screw or bolt backwards into the well nut.
