I test drove the BMW F800ST today. I liked the very linear torque starting at around 3,000 rpm but the engine feels (vibration) and sounds really rough. It's a very capable power plant though. The V4 in the VFR feels so much smoother than the twin. The seating position is more upright and it does feel noticeably lighter than my VFR.

The seat is very good and feels very much like the Sargent seat for the VFR. The belt drive is nice too. The signal controls is just awful and the dash seemed spartan and plasticky. Overall it's a pretty nice bike but I don't think it's worth the $14-16K (Canadian) it is listed for MSRP. I still prefer my VFR.
