I recently unearthed my bike in a mess of parts. It is a 1985 VFR1000. The poor thing was buried for three years while I was away in the US Air Force. I am finally able to treat it right again. Surprising enough the bike started right up after I changed the battery and flushed the fluids. After three years of waiting she got to stretch her legs again and it feels great. I brought her with me to my Base in Wyoming. Believe it or not I have been a member with this site for years just never got around to posting anything about the bike. I actually thought she was gone forever. On a recent trip home I found her. My father had put it in storage for me. This was my first Motorcycle ever; bought it when I turned 16. I even rode it to my highschool graduation. But it had issues shortly after and I was leaving for basic before I could fix her. I'm thrilled to get her back on the road. Maybe I will be able to finally join in on one the famous rides you guys do here. there is still much to do on her though... I will keep you informed with posts and pics as things progress. Thanks for reading!

A 1985 VF1000R, or the VF1000F are both classics. Glad to have you back! You should post a picture of your ride.

Thanks and I will. not sure wether it is an R or F is there any indicators on that. I bought it solid black so no decals and there was very little that came with it. On the title it has 1985 Honda Interceptor 998ccm

Typically the VF1000R has the full side/bottom fairing, and the VF1000F has the visible perimeter frame and a small chin spoiler.

That's awesome. I'm just 40 minutes down the road from you in ft. Collins area. Happy Jack road and 287 are nice rides by us. Plenty more in the area as well!

Someone in Boulder also ridea a VF1000R, and I'm another 40minutes south of TinkeringWstuff. Did a V4 ride earlier this season and ended up with about half a dozen VFRs.

That is awesome! I've been in wyoming for two years and havent seen any VFRs out here. Wish i was there to see it in person. It looks like there might be one in the back there, but next season I will definitely join in. Was that pic taken by the lincoln monument?

I believe his is a second generation 700 or 750.

With the kirker exhaust on it, sounded bad-ass

It's a nice ride up there. I recommend trying to get away during the week. Too much traffic on the weekend and no way to have fun up there without riding like an asshat.
