So, yesterday in NW MO was perfect... 75 degrees and no wind. So after I spent the morning doing my taxes I geared up and went for a ride. I rode maybe 150 miles, stayed on my local roads, and had a ball. Rode mostly like a hooligan, and didn't see one LEO. Anyhow, as I neared the end of the ride (maybe 10 miles from home) I come up on a flock (6) of Harley Movings (HD's) right before a traffic circle that I normaly treat as a chicane. No path by without being a total A hole, so I stayed on their 6 and bidded my time. They were all scoping me in their mirrors. The leader was on some sort of HD custom with a huge rear tire and, I kid you not, feet splayed out on foward controls, that appeared as if his feet were only maybe 3" off the hiway! So we amble through my chicane, and as the traffic coming towards us goes by, I snick her into 4th and go WFO. The leader sees me coming and hammers the fat tire POS. I blast by him as the speedo is passing 125, and it's like he's parked the road soon climbs and goes through two moderate left turns. I glance in my mirror to see that fat tire is still on it, so I don't back off for the turns, just pushing on the left bar and feeling the feelers on the pegs hit the asphalt. Fat tire slows waaay down to make the turn, and at the top of the hill I get hard on the brakes to make a right that takes me home. Got a good laugh at how slow he had to go to make the 1st left, and the Viffer had a little HD blood on her teeth too. Great day all around (the ride blew the memory of the taxes right out the window!!
