Hello, I'm still a relatively amateur rider, but definitely not completely green. I just got my 06 VFR after learning on and dailying an 85 Nighthawk for the last 3 years. Ever since I first saw one screaming around a track, I absolutely fell in love with the V4 sound, and I had to get one for myself. She's absolutely wonderful, and I currently have a set of gutted and OEM exhausts that I'm back and forth on (I love the raw sound but not the droning on longer rides). Previous owner dropped them so I'm waiting on a set of Chinese fairings to come in just to ride over until I finish rebuilding the Nighthawk and decide to really go over her.

Hi Bushwacker and Welcome to the Madhouse:Welcome:

Extra kudos for adding a photo with your first post.

That 6th Gen can cover vast mileages if you keep up with oil and filter services. As for the expensive vtec valve checks I skipped every second check and even so the garage never found one needed adjustment in 260,000km + when I finally sold it for a full option 8th Gen. As the V4 is basically a race engine inherently Mr H set the valve checks at a frequency which would pick up and prevent looming problems on a track day loaner thrashed daily. If you(and predecessors) enjoy a more relaxed pace then you are unlikely to be battering the valves out of adjustment.

Good luck with the Chinese fairings - many turn out to be flimsy and a challenge to fit. If you do find a good supplier please let the folks on here know - it is good to share.

You may want to update your forum profile to include an approximate location (city/State is fine, that way if you need with the VFR you may find someone on the forum lives nearby and is willing to ride over and offer advice or pick up a wrench especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge.:drink:

In the meantime have fun ATGATT.
