I am the owner of a 1995 VFR750F. A joy to ride, but the whole rectifier thing has ruined my experience. I have been lurking here for months, picking up tidbits and such. And this first post is probably not the best.

I bought it used a few months ago (16K on the ODO). I have put a few thousand miles on it since. After about a month, the old rectifier went bad. I ordered one from Electosport ($100 cheaper than Hondas) put it on and it worked like a champ for 1000 miles.

Then I was up in the mountains of NC riding one day, when my bike went totally dead. The battery was shot, fuses blown, ignition coil fried, and now the mechanic says that I need a new ignition control module ($600).

I do not yet know for sure that the ES rectifier caused the problem, but ....

Anyway, I am about to order the ICM - unless someone has one that they want to sell cheaper?

Sorry for your unfortunate experience's sir. You might consider doing some of the R/R and stator mods that some have done on here...including running some redundant larger gauge wiring.
