    Hey there all,
Well I am the very proud new owner of a 5th gen VFR. She is red in colour, has a zero G high screen, carbon pipe (no brand that i can tell of) red stickered rims and a ventura rack.
Here in Australia, Sydney especially, Vfr's all hold their price really well. I was fortunate enough to pick up a very clean model with only 24000kms on it.
    YAY!
The previous owner had 5bikes in the garage and was "mature" so im sure that it has been very well loved, and will continue to be loved in my hands.
As this is my only transport(and my girl's) the main use for my Viffr is short distance touring, out of sydney is a lot of beautiul places to visit, either North, West or South. We try to bicycle round the city as much as possible.
I love that V4 growl and the power deleviery is great. As with any new bike mods are the fun bit!
First off is the 24K valve adj service, which though im sure will cost a bit was factored into the price when i bought it.
2nd is some soft panniers, they will only be used on occasion (the ventura rack is great for 1up touring) when me and the gf try to get away. I hope I can find a set that dont cramp her legs too much or be affected by the wind.
I have heard a lot about rectifier/regulator problems, I guess i will talk to my mechanic and ask what his thoughts are, and will search the forums too.
Finally a few cosmetic mods im looking forward to but will have to wait are clear front indicators, fender eliminator and perhaps an aftermarket seat, though I dare not start the Corbin/Sergent argumen.....
Anyway hope to contribute to the forums where I can. There seems to be a life time's worth of knowledge on here.
    Happy Riding
    j.
