http://www.onlinemetals.com/ Buy metal online: I love it! The best part is they are (relatively) local so I will be paying them a visit when i am up there this week and get the parts for my new 929 rear shock mount.
thank god im a fabricator/welder for a company always have access to metals and have learned tons about it
Most towns have a Metal Supermarkets location. These places have really high prices though. Luckily for me the company that I work for buys raw materials by the semi load, so I can get material at scrap prices. That's handy. I would suggest shopping around, even McMaster-Carr can beat the retail outlets sometimes. On that note, if anyone needs help with this kind of thing just let me know. I'd be happy to help out. It's seems like it's been a difficulty for some but it's no sweat for me.
Today I got 6 inches of aluminum round stock from a local welder/fabricator for $4, so no trip north for me.
