The 6th Gen VTEC is quite different though. It's not really variable, just more of an on/off valve switch setup. Interesting video though since I have two of those in the driveway. Thanks.

thanks for posting, I've been trying to wrap my head around that and haven't had the ambition at the right times to go seak out the information.

Is there any difference between that and this associated video that has audio?

It is amazing how simple in principal the vtec is. Before understanding how this worked I thought it was just more tech crap to fail with no real benifit other than slightly better fuel milage and better emissions at lower rpms. Now I have a new apreciation for the system. I think if honda would have incorperated a more advanced vtec system such as the version in the s2000 vfr owners of all generations would have a different view of the vtec vfrs. There is a lot of potential here for some serios hightech tuning to make the most out of a motor. Sure it adds complexity being a bad thing when you calculate the potential for failure but the ability to make power from such a design once it was refined could be worth it. Too bad honda sat on the same bike (6th gen)without making any real advancement for so long...

Sounded like a very mature forum. "Dick ends" as a descriptive insult is new to me, and sure to be implemented. "My Evo rules, so everyone else should go jump off a cliff whilst fuc*ing themselves!"

Those were just the type of guys I use to love embarassing back when nobody knew what a German, 4 door, S4, with 420hp was. They must have assumed I was slow, due to the lack of a taller than roof line spoiler.
