What are people's experiences with removing the tank warning decals? Would heating them up and slowly removing work?

My dealer said I should take it into a body shop and have them taken off. Can't see it being that much of an issue. Bike is still new now is the time to take them off.

    Any other ideas?

    Cheers

I sprayed them with GOO GONE & let them soften up for about 5 minutes. I then simply peeled them off & used some more GOO GONE to remove the sticky residue.

Blow dryer to heat them up, peel the stickers and use goof off, goo gone or WD-40 to remove any residue, then apply wax to protect the paint.

I've always used just a hair dryer and glass cleaner. They key is to get them off when the bike is new. If they have time (years) to set, then I've noticed that they will often leave a mark or compromise the paint where they once were. Since your bike is new, get them off and you won't even know that they were there. By the way, you made a great choice. I didn't know that you could get the RWB in Canada.

Recently been in an accident and dented the tank after the get-off. When they repainted the tank, the shop forgot to put the warning stickers back on. I used them as alignment for my tank bag. That's how I noticed they were gone.

Heat gun and or hair dyer if you can find one that gets hot enough and a good finger nail usually does the trick, then follow up with a cleaner wax

Thanks for all the info. Didn't think it needed to go into the shop.

Yep they have them up here, actually all the low number production numbers land here first.

I was going to do the red but my emotional (age) side got to me. The retro paint means a lot to me.

Have to say  to the stickers.

heated mine with hair dryer to remove, then got rid of the sticky stuff with hairspray. Tried WD40 first but didn't do it completely. Suprisingly the aerosol hairspray worked great.

It's all done and went really easy. Hair dryer and some wax afterwords. Very simple and worked awesome. Bike had never seen direct sun though and is only two days off the showroom floor.

I would imagine after a year or so it would more and more difficult.

I will add this thread to the wiki.
