How tight should jet holders (emulsion tubes) be screwed in?

Hello, I'm new to the forum here with a simple question (hopefully simple). When reinstalling the main jet emulsion tubes, how tightly should they be screwed in? They get pretty tight with threads still showing. My thought was that they should be in as far as possible to try to bottom out the emulsion tube. First 3 went fine, then s**t, I busted off the fourth one. Being the smart guy that I am, I figured I overtightened it, but now I'm unsure how far to tighten them down. Any help would be appreciated!

Serious mistake, probably avoidable if you studied the pix in FSM or looked more closely when you were takin stuff apart.

Best to tighten tube with a 7mm wrench on the nut part, not using main jet as a screwhead. First, be sure threads on tube and holder are clean, then thread in finger-tight, then tighten with 7mm socket or wrench until some solid resistance is encountered, then a hair more, and be prepared to stop there. The rotation from finger-tight to nicely-secured is usually way less than 1/2 turn, with emulsion tubes i'd guess about 1/8 turn from finger-tight. Workin on bikes and light alloy parts needs a delicate touch--nowhere more than with carbs-- and certainty of what you're doin to avoid expensive, possibly irreparable damage to a rare motorcycle that you are privileged to own and operate !

Attach main jet to tube while holding with 7mm and using a medium-sized screwdriver with medium force. Best not to use the main jet to install or remove the emulsion tubes by screwdriver.
