Just how much of a difference is there between the V4s used in all the generations of these bikes? Had a random thought today about the idea of adapting a header from a newer VFR to my VF. Just wondered how much of a difference there was between all the engines. I suspect my best bet would be looking at headers from a 2nd or 3rd gen because they would be closest to the older bikes..

Look up Honda Interceptor in Wikipedia. You will get alot of info. The engine mounting angle of the new Ceptors and the old Ceptors are similar. It's where the exhaust goes under the engine that's probably going to be an issue (centerstand, different frame etc ...)

Also, I don't know if the exhaust tube diameter of the newer Ceptors are the same as the 1st gen's.

Two very good points i will check out the wiki on that soon. In the long run i may just attempt to fab a new collector that takes up less space then the current one and converts the original piping into 4 into 1. Doing it that way allows me to revert back to stock if it doesnt work out.
