When I did mine I used next heavier fork oil, mine work good for what they are.

1986 vfr700 interceptor is .........370cc in the left fork and ...........358cc in the right
Loosen fork caps while still mounted on bike

    Wash out internals thoroughly.

Replace upper and lower fork bushings if they look like copper instead of medium grey.

snap rings are reused unless mangled during removal.

Clean seal and upper bushing area with solvent and green Scotchbrite pad.

Coat all parts with fork oil b4 assembly.

Use old seal on top of new seal to prevent damage during installation.

Use 10 wt. FORK OIL, not the ATF recommended.

Fill (with spring out) to 6" below top.

A drop of locktite on bottom 6mm bolt is a thoughtful touch.

Check your wheel bearings while it's off.

1 1/2" PVC pipe and END CAP
    10 W FORK OIL
    SEALS DUST COVERS

    fork oil capacity:
right: 358 ml or 153 mm from the top
left: 370 ml or 153 mm from the top

.....also be sure, after adding oil, to pump the forks fully up and down a few times to distribute oil, then fill to 6" below top.

Some companies will sell you new seals at less than half Honda price, but they're not as good as OEM.

It's very easy to mistakenly install seals upside down, so be sure any lettering ( size#s, manufacturer, etc.) is facing UP.

Have you got the clip out? You could be all day if you don't, lol. Heat is your friend if you do.
