Sure, we all love our VFRs. But how many of us depend on 2 wheels for transportation, and how many of us ride for fun only?

I use the handy (free) tool Mileage Tracker :: Home to track mileage and maintenance, and it says I ride roughly 45% of the miles I travel and drive about 55%. I ride about 21 miles per day on average and drive about 26. What about you guys?

If there is no snow and ice, I ride. Commute basically year round road conditions permitting, rain or shine. About 30,000 km a year. Cage is parked unless there is a need to drive it. I filled up the Flag ship HMCS GMC Sierra at the end of June last year and it was not in need of another re-fueling until I believe mid November

    Ride on boys.

I ride for both, all thou mostly fun. Being self employed gives me the opportunity to use the VFR for work related errands of sorts when that works out, that said. I ride more for the pleasure and the experience of being one with the machine and the environment, if I can kill to birds with one stone, so be it.

anyhoo, WHEN, it is done, it will be used for me to commute to school roughly ten miles to school and 25 miles back :)

    Mileage ridden

I ride my O7 to work sometimes but most of my mileage is from long weekend rides of about 300-400 miles. I have had the bike for 14 months and just turned 12,000 miles. Most of the miles are on twisty roads native to Northern California coastline.

I'm riding year-round, as long as there's no ice or snow on the roads, and lately there's been a lot of the dreaded stuff. I commute on my VFR, although it's only a few miles. I take it out every weekend, both days, just to get some experience and practice. Even on a very, very cold day, riding my motorcycle beats driving my cage.

I've got a 5,000 mile trip, a 1,500 mile trip, and a 400 mile trip planned for June, July, and September respectively, Hope to work in a few others, too, if at all possible.

My job is the old proverbial double-edged sword - it allows me to afford trips, but prevents me from taking as many as I would like. But at least I'm still gainfully employed. I know that many others are not right now and I feel for them all. Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets...

Not as much as I should, however my other hobbies have to share my time. I haven't been hitting the backroads as much as I used to lately, but I have been riding to work almost everyday. Probably ride to work 90% of the time now....

i live a whopping 3 1/2 miles from work. so i ride every day. rain or shine. (and when does it rain in So Cal?)
and here in LA there's practically no (free) public parking. meter's are always occupied and all neighborhoods are permit parking only. so the bike is the way to go. you can easily slip in between two metered cars and viola, free parking. many private parking lots also let bikes in free of charge.
i've had my bike about 10 months and she's approaching 15k. i've had my car almost 3 years and it's nearing its first oil change at 13k.

I've had my '07 for four months, and just went over 3K miles last weekend. Ninety-nine percent of my riding is pleasure, one percent errands. I don't work, so have plenty of free time to ride ... WOOT!
