Thinking about selling my bike. Not sure but I'd like something newer. It's a 1984 VF700F with 32,000 miles, aftermarket lower fairings, Vance and Hines, rear seat cover and custom paint. I'm torn, I love this bike but would like a newer one and I can't afford to have both. It does need a rear tire and I haven't gotten a chance to update or paint the wheels, There a new chain and sprockets and clutch on the bike. All it needs is a rear tire and wheel paint. It does need to be wet sanded and rubbed yet to. I haven't had any time to do it.

I don't know how bikes do in your area, but given that it is over 20 years old, and not original paint, I'd probably say you're in the $1000-$1500 range. Of course, that's a guess on my part based on my spending habits. I'm thinking with income tax checks coming back soon to spontaneous buyers, you might unload it quickly if you keep the cost down. Good luck.

I paid $1400 for a cosmetically damaged but mechanically perfect 86' 700 w/ 50% + tires & chain/sprockets 2yrs ago w/ 22K. Most buyers won't have a problem buying a tire for a bike they got a good deal on. But not fully prepped paint work could bite you as over 70% of people have never even tinkered w/ paint work; you'd be better off finishing that; I would'nt worry about the rims but take care of the color sanding & buffing. Also hold off til' the end of Feb. to sell it when the early bird start getting there returns back.

That's a beautiful bike! You might find the right buyer willing to pay around $2000.

I paid 1300 for my 85 VF700F that I'm still riding... I have had it for a full year now...

Are you looking for a new Interceptor or just anything new with 2 wheels?

I changed my mind. I guess I do that alot. Anyway, I like my bike just fine but have wanted a newer bike for a while. I think I'll keep the Interceptor whether I get a new one or not.

Thats why i still have my 86. I' have had it since new. my first sport bike. Can't sell her for what she's worth to me. So I'll keep her. She doesn't cost much to own. $117.00 for liability insurance. she has long since been paid for. I can tinker with her and still ride my new sweetie. I love it. two bikes what more could you want?
    peace out
