How long do tires last? That's a pretty ambiguous question right? Well, if the tire was new it should last pretty long. What is considered new? No mileage? Well, that shouldn't be the case. So, a tire can sit on a shelf for 2,3,4 years with no mileage on it and still be sold as new. Well, that is exactly what's happening. There is no laws or standards stating how long a tire can sit on a shelf and still be good. Think about it. Rubber degrades over time, even if it's not exposed to any elements. Take a look at this video. I got it from my uncle. It's pretty scary when you think about it. I've all ready checked mine out on both the bike and the cars and mine are good. Take a look at the video and check it out for yourself. It runs about 10 minutes.
