I think its better than most bikes but the springs are about 20-40 too light? I have the abs model with 10,500 miles on it. The roads are broken, so I need to adj or replace suspension parts,:mech:

The factory suspension is IMHO pretty terrible. Time for a rear shock upgrade and Fork swap :)

I tried God for permission. I was told he didn't accept PayPal.

I put racetech in the front end. 1.1's. For my weight, racetech suggested .95's (I think). Well, best thing ever was going a bit over. If you talk to TC, he has a great Ohlin in the rear of his 07. It rides great.

a ohlin rear shock with hydro pre load is like $869 a bit too much for me. I guess sense I got only 10,000+ miles maybe not worth the dough.

I went to Jamie Daugherty for all 3 of my bikes and so far he hasn't disappointed. For the price to cover both front and rear, depending on the options you take, comes in well less than the price of an Ohlins rear shock alone. That being said, even if you buy an off the shelf Ohlins, you'll still want to have it setup for your weight and the type of riding you'll be doing, plus whatever front end changes you want to make, so factor all that into the cost of it all.

No, figured someone else who is new might stumble onto this thread and see actual useful information.

Hence what I said, "depending on the options you take". Whether it's race parts or street parts, the principle is the same.

My 6 Gen is setup for commuting/touring while my Duc and 5 Gen is setup for sport/track riding.

This is the only reason I would reply to a SOW thread.
    That being said.
Not a big fan of Jamie Daugherty for personal reasons but I have ridden several bikes with his rear shock on them and it is a vast improvement over stock. A bit of a soft spot in the first bit of movement and then rather rigid. The pogo/dog walking that is normal for stock is gone and much easier to hold a line at a swift pace.
