I posted a thread here the other day but got no replies:

In summary, I replaced all my vacuum lines. And the fit is pretty damn tight. I suspect this is normal for new vacuum lines.

So today, just days after installing all these lines, I decided to sync my starter valves. Was really difficult to get the lines off of the 5-way joint. You can't get much leverage in there, and I think I slightly bent my starter rod when pulling on the lines, I just bent it back, I assume its probably ok, I can get a new one for like $5.

Anyways, I tried to get one off with a flathead, and that just cut into the line.

What do you all use to get these on / off easily? I did "lube" the joint a bit with some grease (just a light coat) and that helped a little.

I don't know that I would have used grease on those. Maybe a very little dish soap. That will wash away but grease tends to stick around a bit. To remove, maybe gently apply a bit of heat to make the rubber more pliable? Can't say that I have ever removed any vacuum lines other than on an old car.

    Twist before pulling.
