I saw the new thread about cleaning leathers and I realized I've never cleaned
    my mesh jacket.
I usually just use a wet rag to remove bug hits, but how do you clean the entire jacket?

I throw mine in the washing machine. After I remove the armor that is. I haven't had a problem with it messing up. Another alternative would be to hand wash it.

Yup - pull the armor and wash it in the washing machine. There are probably washing instructions somewhere... Probably machine wash cold, hang dry. I've run mine through the dryer a couple of times and it's still in one piece but YMMV.

Give it to your wife and let her figure it out (Just kidding of course) :D
I put my Fieldsheer textile in the washer on gentle cycle and let it air dry.

    Regards,

If you have a Cycleport (aka Motoport) kevlar mesh jacket just go to the local laundromat and throw it in a big washer. Cycleport recommends washing with the armor in the jacket. Cycleport stuff isn't cheap, but quality is high and it's probably cheaper than your health insurance deductible if you go to the ER.

Ok what if the armor cannot be removed?
Still throw it in the washer?

I hand wash my gear in my bathtub. Plenty of room for the wash and rinse in cold water.

    Then hang dry.

In that case I'd check the manufacturers web site, they probably have washing instructions. If nothing else give them a call or send them an email.

i have mine hand washed and massaged with very expensive mesh jacket bath oils from the far east, by a harem of 18 year old virgins......not - throw the damn thing in the washer on gentle, use a mild detergent with no bleach and air dry, as for the armor, if you can't remove it, guess what?, you leave it in......
