How did the latest VFR get label 8th gen

    Doh, outside of common sense, I get the 8th gen label. But? Ha ha, The 1200 shouldn't count as vfr, even though Honda called it one. It is a whole other animal with no relation to what the VFR was / is. So shouldn't the 14-+ be a 7th gen?

    When you think of it, the VF shouldn't be counted as a 1st gen, it wasn't a VFR.
    1st Gen was the 86 VFR750F, get rid of the 1200 and it makes the new VFR a 6th Gen.
    No offense to 1200 owners.

    Agreed Oz, The gen thing appears to be an Americanism that as with most thing the rest of the world accepts. I’m pretty sure none would know what model/year a fiw, fix , fiy or fs,ft,ft were

    Rest of the world uses RC nomenclature.

    Like VFR 800 2014 beeing RC79.

    Was thinking the same , as "8th gen" got same 2002 vtec engine is far to be even a "new" generation
