    Hey,
I have a starter solenoid that gets hot even when the bike is switched off. The "B" side of the solenoid actually made the protective boot on the cable from the battery gooey. Any idea what is causing this? Bad solenoid or do I have a bigger issue?

It may be bad now, but I would check the starter relay. It is probably sticking on, or the wiring is shorted. It is not getting enough power to turn the starter, or they are both shot.
Does the starter seem to work properly?
