Hi guys me again I have a 2005 vfr had a electrical problem but now it is better. Took her to the local dealer here in md and told them I wanted the factory recall on the main wiring harness done

and the sub harness, they said ok, because my headlights and turn signals, a dead and I had smoke coming from under my dash. So it is done everything is working good, but r/r is so hot you can't
lay a finger on it, so from read the past posts I am going to look for a new r/r that runs alot cooler, from rick's or someone that has a series type r/r.

Just for kicks and giggles try running a new earth wire from the rec/reg directly to the battery and see how that goes, it should be black or green. Probably wouldn't hurt to do the same with the +as well then come back and let us know

just for your info, the reg will run hot. it shunts all unneeded current being produced by stator to ground. your stator always outputs max current, rpm dependant, even if your electrical sys does not require that much. then your reg shunts that excess current to ground and will always get hot.this prevents overcharging of battery and burnt out bulbs
