Does anybody have a hot right foot besides me? I rode my bike about 150miles the other day without stopping and I thought my right foot was going to spontaneously burst into flames. Yes, I had my Oxtar riding boots on. It was about 105deg outside and really the first time Ive noticed the heat on my foot.

Ive had numerous bikes and never had one cook my foot like this one does. I think Im going to have to get some exhaust tape and wrap it. I have a 3500 mile tour coming up and I would hate to have to ride with my foot sticking out like a confused Hardly rider.

My gen 6 will deep fat fry my foot above 95 degrees ambient. Took a while to get used to but have to ride with my foot an inch or so off the guard in those temps. Does not matter what kind of foot wear, it is just hot and I am prone to keeping my feet in close to the bike, high and tight.

Thanks, I guess it is a matter of how the V 4 routes the exhaust pipes. Im gong to try some exhaust tape. It cant look any worse than the stock muffler already does. Where is Taylormade or Wolf?

wrapped exhaust and adhesive backed insulation on the inside of the heat shield. I have never had this issue, but I wrapped the exhaust for performance purposes and decided to do the heat shield because I had it powdercoated and didn't want it to get singed.

lol yeah sorry about that. but that adhesive back insulator on the heat sheild sounds like a good idea.
jet hot coating the exhaust might be a better idea than wraping, being that it insulates the pipes on the inside and outside. instead of just bottling up all the heat in the pipes...

I just picked one up this week and went for a 120 mile ride yesterday. I noticed the heat with my sneakers in some stop and go traffic. But on my longer ride yesterday with my boots on I really didn't notice it. It was a bit cooler yesterday morning though, only got to about 91F by the time I got home.

I wish it was 91 deg here, that is a memory from long ago. We have probably already had 30 days over 100deg this year. I dont notice any heat issues when it is below about 95... above 95 I might start wrapping my foot up in aluminum foil.

Mine can get a bit toasty if it's an insanely hot day too. It was getting warm enough here that I've had my Viffer out a few times in just shorts and riding shoes instead of my Sidi boots. That's where I would really notice the heat. Honestly though, i noticed so much heat off of the pavement as well that it really made me understand that the long pants and boots are just more comfortable some times than without... and I don't notice getting cooked the same way I do without.

I've never really noticed much boot cooking under normal riding on my 5g (read, not sitting in traffic). However i will never wear shorts on the bike ever again. It roasts the heck out of my right calf when waiting for lights to change. Wearing long pants and boots I notice no more heat on the right side than comes from the rear cylinder head in my crotch...
