So I get up early this morning and take the little lady out for a morning ride and breakfast. It's a beautiful morning here in Moncton and we have the Atlantic Nationals is town this weekend so there are hot rods all over the, reportedly 2000 of them! After breakfast we went for a ride out past the Honda dealer at what a surprise, the Honda come ride with us program is here!! Woo hoo I'm all stoked to see the new VFR so I pull in and start reviewing the line of shiny new machines. Hmmm, no VFR... I think I must be dreaming so I walk the line a second time and then ask one of the fellas where the VFR is. He says, "nope we don't have one" WTF!

So people are gathering around my 07 to have a look because it's the sexiest beast in the lot. It was nice to meet with everyone but what are they thinking? Why even go out with a ride program when you re missing your key player?

Isn't it nice Jethro when your 7yr old bike draws a crowd when parked next to those fresh new offerings:cool:

You wouldn't want the crowd to go wild and get a VFR right? You'd all be riding the same bike.

Was there any further info from the dealer like they aren't available due to demand or the dealer just didn't buy one or more from Honda?

No they just shrugged and said, hmm I guess we don't have one. It didn't seem to be a huge issue to them. They had a fine collection of strange cruisers and a wing as well as the CBR family but no V4s.

Chilliwack had their ride day a while back and did not have the new VFR either. Shop owner was there and said Honda Canada has not yet provided one for the rounds for what ever reason. I see that RVFR posted up today, he got to take one out for a ride very recently down in Olympia WA so maybe there will be one one tour next year. Maybe another ride day this year later. Can only hope.

And yessssss Jethro. The 6th gen is the sexiest out there right now. But I think we are going to be knocked down into second place soon.

100,000 mil vfr impresses me more than those new machines, I don't like new bikes. I like vintage bikes only with lots of miles.

Its true that the VFRs are attention whores. I go to a weekly car show on fridays and my RWB gets a lot of looks and compliments.

@ sunowolf. High mileage VFR's are cool if you put the high mileage on. I love mine and one of a couple reasons I am not getting a brand spanking new one, is I want to see how long this present one is going to hold out. I will probably be dead before that happens. Another reason is this. Contrary to popular belief here, I am not rich. I am on fixed income. If I get a new bike, my precious puppy has to eat bargain brand dog food rather than the good stuff. And I want a new fifth wheel which I cannot afford either.

I guess that time will tell but they do have their work cut out for them. It's like Ducati trying to build a sexier bike after the release of the 916. It's a timeless classic and will always look good even if it is a painful beast to ride. Honda set the bar pretty high when the 6th gen hit the street and the new bike looks pretty good but what happens when you park a 6th gen beside it? Don't get me wrong, I really don't care if the majority prefer a different machine than the 6th gen, I still prefer the looks of the 3rd gen over the 6th if I'm to be honest but I like the reliability of the EFI that the 5th and 6th gen bikes bring to the table.

So now this thread is heading in a different direction, what do you think is a timeless classic?

    NC35 (RFVR 400) http://www.ebay.com/itm/291178449221?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

    RC30 or RC45?

    NR750? hmmm

    RG500 Gamma?

    MV Agusta F4I?

Lots of choices and I love them all!

    My choice, a Manx Norton

SOWs choice, a Yugo with frame sliders.
