I have a 99 VFR and I realised at 160kmph the front end starts vibrating. At 180kmph I'm getting a slight wobble. I'm running Metzler tires and they were rated good upto +/- 200kmph. Is it a problem of the front suspension or is it the tires? I'm having a hard time keeping up with my friends on their sportbikes. Any suggestions, apart from buying a sportbike???

Has the tires been balanced since the installation?

Are the alloy wheels straight and true? any dents on the wheels?

Are your fork legs up in the triple clamps? maybe they are up too high?

Landing alot of hard wheelies can wear out your steering head bearings which can lead to the high-speed wobble you describe. (Steering head bearings can also eventually wear out on their own, without all the wheelies, but landing hard wheelies is often the main cause).

To check your steering head bearings:

    1. Put the bike on the centerstand

    2. Have a buddy (the heavier the better) push down on the back of the bike to raise the front wheel up off the ground.

    3. standing in front of the bike, grab the clipons and try to wiggle the front forks forward and backward relative to the bike.

If you can detect ANY discernable play, it's time to replace the steering head bearings. You can get tapered bearings to replace the standard bearings and they'll last longer.
