I recently took a 2003 with about 6k miles on it for a test ride. I really liked it. I almost jumped on it since the seller was willing to take 3500 for it. Seemed like a deal too good to pass up, but I'm wondering how big a difference mileage really makes on a well maintained bike. I have always bought low and sold low. My next VFR will stay with me and be my road bike/daily commuter weather permitting. I've seen some killer deals on well farkled VFRs that are in the 15 -35K mile range. About the same price or lower than the 2003 I rode. How well do the 6th gen bikes hold up and what can I expect to do maintenance wise over 50K miles or so? I've yet to ride one with 30 or more thousand miles on it.

I recently saw a 6th gen with 130K miles. Ran really good. I don't think you have got anything to worry about with high mileage as long as it was well maintained. Well with high mileage you may need to get a new clutch, brake pads etc. If a higher mileage (like 50k miles bike) with lots of farkles , that's useful for you, can be had for same price or even slightly more than a sub 10K mile stock bike I'd go for the high mile bike. (Given they are well maintained)
