so I'm looking at an old issue of American Motorcyclist while I'm in the necessary room and catch a backpage article of this weird contraption build by Craig Vetter of the famed plastic shields and such... Anyway, it seems back in the 80s he held this contest to see how high of mileage people could get out of bikes. His bike with it's crazy weird aerodynamics got 108-125. But apparently someone built one that got over 400mpg. That was in the 1980s... Wonder if we'll be seeing any of that tech now with gas prices like they are? I'm sure they were down on power, but that's crazy high mileage and supposedly these bikes had to be able to do hwy speeds... Here is a pic of the streamliner: anyway, this guy has a lot of crazy stuff he has done over the years on his site and it makes for an interesting read... You gotta love this (his rocket wheelchair from 1973)
was that david lee roths brother hummmm.. hell if he made a bike that got 400mpg i would think he would sell all of those especially if they went 60 mph. dam he would be a billionare but maybe opec paid him not to build it..............ohh my bad you said someone ok now i get it hell i wonder if he's related to canib's whiskey technologys??i like that seat and those must be heli bars yep i wonder if he could make that seat a tiolet that would be cool no more pit stops full tank east to west coast on 4 gallons of fuel awesome.. i forgot to ask are you supposed to smoke a fat joint bigger then any bob marley roll before you read his articles 10-4
he does kinda look like DLR eh. I guess that pot smoking, acid dropping, free thinkin can lead to some interesting ideas. His website is a hoot: http://www.craigvetter.com/ He has built a lot of the crazy shit where you are sitting around stoned and go what if we... It's a wonder him and his brother are still alive. I bet they have had some crazy crashes, though...
