I have a 96 VFR and I'm having a small problem with my high beams. When I switch to the high beams there's a delay before the high beams go on. So I have no headlights for a second or two until the high beams come on. This doesn't happen all the time, maybe about ever five times I switch on the high beams. So the way I can reproduce the problem is I switch back and forth between the high and low beams and on the fifth time I hit the switch I get a delay.

I'm guessing there's a loose connection somewhere, but I haven't found anything yet. Has anyone experienced something like this? Any ideas?

    Thanks...

Could be dirty or loose contacts in the switch itself, I would almost bet that it is vs. a loose wire connection. That just based on you descripiton; take the switch apart & clean w/ a good quality electrical cleaner(something that doesn't leave residue). A good rule of thumb when diagnosising an electrical problem is to start @ one end & work your way to the other; if you start in the middle your bound to be pulling your hair out w/i an hour. Start @ the switch & work your way to the headlamp; or if you want to spend more time start @ the headlight & work your way to the switch. I've beat my head against the wall for years coming up with that theory, its just to easy to get confused in the middle.
